Main GalleryHills will create this work in an open studio environment at Blue Star Contemporary Art Center throughout the month of September, with opening receptions, Thursday September 30 and First Friday, October 1, 2010, 6 - 9 pm.
Fourth in a series of projects derived from his 1997 Song 44, Casual Observer will allow ample time for the lackadaisical viewer to convince themselves that something is happening. Visitors to the gallery might even chance upon the artist with guitar, singing a song or two, possibly with collaborators.
This project is funded with a grant from the Artists Foundation of San Antonio.
