Project Space

Blue Star Contemporary Art Center is hosting an installation called Country Wave from French artist Anne Ferrer. The Middle Gallery space is transformed into an ideal country and western furnished home, invaded by a huge wave ok pink frosting.

While being invited to teach at UTSA in the fall of 2008, Anne Ferrer experienced an amazing feeling of strangeness during her 4 months teaching at UTSA and producing work in San Antonio, TX. Living in the great hill country during that time period has been a gold mine of inspiration for the Parisian artist who was inspired by her Texas residence in her current site-specific installation.
