CALL FOR ARTISTS

SAN ANTONIO, TX. - Blue Star Contemporary Art Center is pleased to announce the opening call for artist submissions for the upcoming San Antonio Painters exhibition, May 31, 2012 - August 18, 2012.

This exhibition in Blue Star's main gallery space will be juried and curated by Deputy Editor of ARTnews, Barbara MacAdam. Seven San Antonio painters will be chosen by MacAdam and each will exhibit three to five pieces.

Please review the guidelines for submissions:

· Deadline for submissions is February 20th, 2012

· Candidate must be an artist currently living in San Antonio or surrounding areas, up to 90 miles.

· Please submit paintings for review. Paintings will be defined as 2- dimensional work that is not purely photographic or a print. Mixed media is acceptable.

· Each candidate may submit up to 10 different works for consideration - please limit images of each work to 3.

· Submitting work via email to Rebecca@bluestarart.org is preferable. Email each work (with up to 3 photos of the piece) and include name, title, and dimensions in subject line. In another email, include your CV/resume, artist statement and checklist of all materials emailed.

· Digital images must be 300 dpi and of high professional quality

· If mailing, please include in one packet: a CD of images, checklist of all materials in packet with image titles, date, medium, an artist statement and CV
