Introducing the Miss CAM Antonio Contest! (San Antonio, Tex.) February 1, 2012 – In honor of 2012’s newly feminized logo, Contemporary Art Month and Blue Star Contemporary Art Center presents the Miss CAM Antonio contest. This virtual pageant will take place on the new Miss CAM Antonio Facebook page (www.facebook.com/CAMAntonio2012). The contest is open to anyone currently living in San Antonio: male or female, young or old. To compete, contestants must answer the classic pageant-inspired question: “As Miss CAM Antonio how would you promote contemporary art in San Antonio?” Contestants post their answers on the Miss CAM Antonio Facebook page in the form of words, video, photos, or any other medium that can fit into a wall post. Answers may be posted from February 1 – 24, 2012. The finalists will be determined by the number of “likes” the contestant’s wall post receives. The top four receiving the most “likes” will proceed to the finalist round, judged by a panel of CAM and Blue Star Art members. The winner will be crowned during the Contemporary Art Month kick-off party at Blue Star Art Contemporary Art Center on Thursday, March 1, from 6-9 p.m. Miss CAM Antonio receives a custom designed tiara by local artist Chris Sauter and a pair of tickets to the Contemporary Art Month closing party among other prizes. CAM will promote the winning answer in social media and traditional press materials. He or she may even get a photo-op astride a tractor! ###
