University Health System is currently undertaking an $899 million dollar Capital Improvement Program (CIP) to increase capacity maximize efficiencies and improve the patient, visitor and staff experience at University Hospital and University Health Center-Downtown. An important component to this project is a Design Enhancement/ Public Art [DEPA] program for both sites to incorporate art that inspires the healing process.University Health System recognizes the role and vitality the cultural arts play in the life and community of Bexar County and San Antonio and wants to implement a dynamic program that will be an important element in this growth of the hospital system. Salud-Arte is a design enhancement/public art program with the University Health System, San Antonio. Our mission "Use Art to inspire healing, compassion, hope and trust. Reflect the community, improve the experience and promote the mission of University Health System through art and design enhancement while being good stewards of our financial and natural resources."
