WHAT
IS ARTsmart?
ARTsmart is an exciting way of creating community
interaction around art. It’s about developing innovative programs
that stir the imagination and inspire people of all ages. ARTsmart
is about connecting Blue Star Contemporary Art Center with
the ENTIRE community in fun, original ways!
HOW DO WE MAKE PEOPLE ARTsmarter?
Our dedicated staff and talented visiting artists work with students
of all levels and ages in individually designed, one-of-a-kind programs.
Whether through programs for children in an ARTventure summer
camp or senior citizens in our ART2YOU, ARTsmart
inspires creative genius. Adults and teens will enjoy informative
seminars about ongoing exhibits, as well as opportunities to enhance
their skills in the business of art. Visual Thinking Skills (VTS)
enhance critical thinking and encourage students to openly discuss
art in new, insightful ways. ARTsmart is dedicated
to effective, hands-on arts education, community outreach and so
much more!
PROGRAMS
THAT MAKE YOU, SMILE
ARTsmart opens eyes and allows students to see
the world differently. Its positive effects can be seen in the faces
of the seniors who can’t wait for their art classes to begin.
It’s evident in the smiles of children watching their first
sculptures take form. It’s found in the excited eyes of high-school
students when they sell their first paintings. ARTsmart
is about bringing the parents and children together in
our Family Days. ARTsmart works every day in the
hearts and minds of all those who participate.
BE
OUT OF THE ORDINARY
ARTsmart inspires organizations to be collaborators
not only financially, but creatively, as well. ARTsmart
partners bring new ideas to the creative process and help art become
a creative force in the community. The ARTsmart
staff, professional artists and participating students want partners
who believe in our mission of inspiring creative genius.
