Summer
is the time to get creative and adventurous at Blue Star. Sign up
now for a summer ARTventure where kids ages 7 to 11 will discover,
create, explore and grow. Artist and educator Clare Little will lead students in the creation of artwork inspired
by artists like Keith Haring, David Hockney, Van Gogh and Henry Moore. These educational and fun-filled ARTventures
are based on the Visual Thinking Strategy (VTS),
which uses art to teach thinking, communication skills and visual
literacy. VTS has been proven to increase observation skills, evidential
reasoning and the ability to find multiple solutions to complex
problems. Students will build on their existing abilities and skills
using materials such as chalk, graphite, watercolor,
acrylic paint, plaster, and clay. Campers will gain exposure
to contemporary concepts, traditional techniques, as well as a new
found confidence in their creative abilities.
ARTventure
fees: $265 per weeklong session. Fee includes
a hardbound sketchbook, Blue Star t-shirt, drinks and snacks. Lunch
will not be provided and will need to be brought everyday. Sign
up for both sessions and get 10% off. Please mail or fax completed
registration form to Karen at Blue Star no later than May 21st.
Fees must be received no later than May 21st. Limited spaces of
20 kids per session so sign up now! CALL 227-6960 for more information.
